Can’t understand the difference between professional hair care and supermarket products? Our team member Jenna explains…
Whenever I ask my clients what they are using at home I am always hearing “whatever was on offer”. So why do we spend so much time and money on our skin care/ makeup/ clothes/ shoes and not on the crown we wear every day?
I often tell my clients if they were to taste a professional shampoo compared to supermarket shampoo, the supermarket would taste salty as they pack these shampoos with sulphates that are no good for the hair. They leave wax type residue wash after wash which can sometimes affect your colouring / lifting service within salon and leave your hair with a silicone covered finish which makes people presume they have silky shiny hair.
COLOUR CLIENTS – if you are spending 80-100+ on your colour in a salon and then going home using tresemme, you are throwing all that money and hard work from your hairdresser quite literally down the drain! If you are having professional colour on your hair, you need to be using professional shampoo and conditioner as they recognise the colour molecules within the hair, cling onto them and therefore your colour lasts longer!
MORE FOR YOUR MONEY – on average a professional bottle of shampoo is around £15 which when using a 10pence piece size for each shampoo and as they are more concentrated, it should last you a lot longer than your half price bottle of tresemme from Tesco. The more expensive the product, the more expensive the ingredients!
